Meet metal artist and bespoke jewellery maker Meron Wolde along with award winning textile collagist Onome Otite at their Cockpit Arts studio.
Both artists will present their new work for sale and share insights to their studio practice, techniques and use of recyclable materials. Whilst emerging from different art disciplines, the works point to the shared interest in Sub Saharan African culture. Onome's figurative artworks are created from West African textiles and influenced by traditional costumes. Meron's sculptural jewellery finds inspiration from her travels to Ethiopia and Eritrea, where she found workshops that still practise with limited equipment yet produce astonishing pieces of art.
This relaxed evening includes a complimentary drink, tour and chance to discuss commission projects with the artists. Please be advised this is a rsvp event - tell a friend and sign up!
